Routine Eye Examination

A routine eye examination is an important part of maintaining your overall health. During this visit, we carefully assess how well you see and determine if you need glasses or contact lenses. In addition to checking your prescription, we also evaluate the health of your eyes. This includes screening for common conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, as well as identifying early signs of other health issues that can affect your vision.

Regular eye exams not only help you see your best but also play a key role in protecting your long-term eye health and overall well-being.

A vision screening is not a full eye exam. It’s a quick check to see if your eyes might have a problem, like trouble seeing clearly. Screenings usually just test basic things, like how well you can read letters on a chart. They cannot check the overall health of your eyes, detect early eye diseases, or give you a prescription for glasses. A full eye exam with an eye doctor looks at everything in your eyes, can catch problems early, and can provide glasses or treatment if needed. Think of a vision screening as a first step—if it shows a concern, a complete eye exam is the next step.

In your routine examination, Dr. Max will also screen to see if you have other visual functional issues and address it with you, like computer vision syndrome.
